The Beginning of Something New...

Yes ... the beginning of a new journey for me.  A return journey to my creative heart.

After spending the last 20 plus years chasing after the wrong things and people, God has whet my appetite for all things creative again: knitting, crocheting, drawing and painting.

The drawing above is the starting point to what will be a painting one day.

I seem to be drawing the oddest things at the oddest times and on the oddest surfaces.  On the bus, in the back of my Bible, on a used envelope.  I am enjoying it though.

I am enjoying my return to my creative side.  It's been laying dormant for way too long!

The Big Fat Lies Of My Life...

Have you ever lived a lie? I've lived a few...

My marriage was a lie. My last relationship was a lie. And even the relationship in between was, because I was lying to myself.

I thought all these relationships were the truth until, slowly but surely, the real deal came to be exposed in each of them. Truths that included adultery, addiction and alternative lifestyles.

It’s one month since the latest lie was hammered home and I’m feeling particularly fragile because of it. It can be difficult to move forward when your world, and the trust and belief you had in someone, is turned upside down, even when you already suspected the truth and had evidence of it.

But the peace I need is available.

Jesus is that peace.

Jesus is right here with me offering peace, rest and comfort. He is reminding me that I am worthy of love, I am a beautiful woman - made whole and lovely for a purpose - and how one day I will know what true love is.

"My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him." - Psalm 62:1 NIV

May I Always Remember...

Fill me with a quiet spirit

A calm voice and steady gaze

So I can navigate through

The confusion and the haze

With You as my guide

And my ever steady hand

Never feeling helpless

Nor unable to make a stand

Please grant me the peace

I need to make it through

May I always remember

To rely only on You

I cannot do it alone

That has been well proved

Teach me to wait on you

Till then, I won’t be moved

Dear Lord as You love me

Remind me to do the same

May I always remember

Who died for my shame

I ask this of You now

I need your merciful grace

As I navigate my way

Within Your loving embrace

Hey Mum, Look What I Did!

My girl has been sick for the last three days, and I am slowly trying to NOT go insane. So, today I did this, among some other arty things. My first foray into painting in over 25 years. It was relaxing and so incredibly enjoyable! Hopefully I will get many more opportunities to paint, but hopefully not with a sick daughter!

The picture quality is not the best as it was taken on my BlackBerry.
