For His Purpose and Heart's Desire...

I spent a wonderful few hours at my friend Jo Princess Warrior's house this evening. Along with me there were some of Jo and her husband's friends from their church and 6 lovely kiddies (Jasmine is with her father, so I am kid free for a few days). We all sat around drinking tea and chatting. One of Jo's friends and I got into a nitty gritty discussion about all things life and faith and I was able to not only connect with someone who has lived what I have lived, but also come away with a renewed sense of dignity and purpose. God is amazing with His timing!

I had a rather horrid afternoon. One of which I'd sooner forget. I ended up bouncing back, but it wasn't without a lot of pain and tears. Nevertheless, as I prepare to retire for tonight, I thought I'd join in with Then Sings My Soul Saturday and include a song that I listened to in the car on the way home. This is what I want in my life...to lose my whole life in His purpose and for His heart's desire. To run with blinded eyes, with faith as my guide and to let His love take flight.

Please enjoy Citipointe Live singing Devoted. I am privileged to see Citipointe Live sing more often than not on a Sunday (when the band is not away doing concerts, etc) at my church. Totally blessed! If you have some time, please pop over to their web-site here and check out their music and webisodes of a recent trip to Cambodia where the church has a rescue home (SHE Rescue Home).

Then Sings My Soul...

Then Sings My Soul Saturday, hosted by Amy, brings me to share two songs as I couldn't decide which one to choose.

The first is "The Motions" by Matthew West and the second is "Song of Hope" by the Robbie Saey Bond. I have heard these played on my local Christian radio station, Families 96.5FM, here in Brisbane.

The first song touched me as it made me question as to whether I am just going through the motions or not in my life, and I feel that I am. I want to do more, and be more, than I am and can be, and I want to start right here with my little girl. I feel that I could be a much better mother if I didn't have to work full-time, but I have to, so I will ask the Lord for guidance. I feel that every day, and every weekend, it's just the same old stuff, over and over again. I miss my family, I miss my sweetie, and this weekend I miss my girlie as she is staying with her father. I'm going through the mottions and not coping well with it.

The second song is just a great, uplifting song to listen to, and I'm playing it over and over here to lift my mood after the previous paragraph (sorry for the sobfest). "God of heaven come down..." just sounds amazing when it's sung in the chorus. We must always sing a song of hope and bring God down here to earth through our worship. I have been letting my job and it's busyness take my joy away this week and I don't want that to happen. Part of my purpose is to share, by example, my love for God, but I have failed this week. I love God, and am thankful that He loves me as He does. The lyrics include, "Just to know that you are near is enough", and "Just to know You and be loved is enough." Just amazing lyrics.

Please enjoy...

Then Sings My Soul Saturday...

I'm a day early due to the time difference, but I've just discovered that my church band, Citipointe Live, has posted new videos to their YouTube page from their live concert/album recording from back in June. (I'll do a link back to Amy's page once she posts). I had been waiting and waiting for weeks to attend the concert but on the weekend I was stuck in bed. I'd had influenza a month earlier, and my body was running out of steam again. I've never had the 'flu before, and I have to say that I thought childbirth was nicer!

Anyway, the video below is of Citipointe Live's song "Name of Jesus" and it is a special song for me. Last Sunday at church was "Saturate Sunday", which is the name for worship Sunday, where we spend extra time in worship and prayer to God. The band were singing this song, along with the church, eyes were closed, people were up the front being prayed over, and arms were raised heavenward seeking Jesus.

I sought Jesus, and I'm honoured to say that He came and found me. As the band was singing His name over and over, I had prayed that I could be forgiven for not being, and for help to be, the mother I should be. I felt lost in the moment, praying to my God, when all of a sudden, eyes still closed, I saw a serene and bearded face, surrounded by a gold/yellow light, appear to my left. His face was so close that I could have moved forward a little and placed my cheek next to His. Jesus looked right into my eyes and said, "it's alright Paula."

With that, the band stepped up the tempo, my eyes opened, and He was gone from my sight, but not from my heart. My heart is racing now just thinking about it, and tears are welling up in my eyes. Our Jesus, my Jesus, the man who suffered and died on the cross for me, had just appeared to me and told me that it was alright.

Please enjoy this video and take a moment to close your eyes and seek our Lord as you do. He IS waiting for us to seek Him. He's always there. We just need to, as the Pastor said later during his preach, allow Him to be able to get through all the busyness of our lives. That is what worship is for; an avenue for God and our Wonderful Saviour to get through to us.
