Then Sings My Soul...

Then Sings My Soul Saturday, hosted by Amy, brings me to share two songs as I couldn't decide which one to choose.

The first is "The Motions" by Matthew West and the second is "Song of Hope" by the Robbie Saey Bond. I have heard these played on my local Christian radio station, Families 96.5FM, here in Brisbane.

The first song touched me as it made me question as to whether I am just going through the motions or not in my life, and I feel that I am. I want to do more, and be more, than I am and can be, and I want to start right here with my little girl. I feel that I could be a much better mother if I didn't have to work full-time, but I have to, so I will ask the Lord for guidance. I feel that every day, and every weekend, it's just the same old stuff, over and over again. I miss my family, I miss my sweetie, and this weekend I miss my girlie as she is staying with her father. I'm going through the mottions and not coping well with it.

The second song is just a great, uplifting song to listen to, and I'm playing it over and over here to lift my mood after the previous paragraph (sorry for the sobfest). "God of heaven come down..." just sounds amazing when it's sung in the chorus. We must always sing a song of hope and bring God down here to earth through our worship. I have been letting my job and it's busyness take my joy away this week and I don't want that to happen. Part of my purpose is to share, by example, my love for God, but I have failed this week. I love God, and am thankful that He loves me as He does. The lyrics include, "Just to know that you are near is enough", and "Just to know You and be loved is enough." Just amazing lyrics.

Please enjoy...

  1. Thank you for so openly sharing what's upon your heart. I think, I speak, for many when I encourage you to not apologize for what you termed as a "sobfest". Knowing what is in your heart allows us the honor of knowing how to more specifically pray for you. May God use this weekend of being alone as a time of refreshment and renewal in Him. God bless, Stacy

  4. Beautiful songs, fellow 96.5 listener! I hope you and your girl are well and enjoying this weather for ducks. How's the downpours!!! And just when we are off to the beach for a few days, too! Classic! Never mind - I can happily rest up in the rain, and I still enjoy walks along the beach in the rain... I'm sure the boys will have fun, no matter what. Enjoy your day!
