Living a Super Hero's Life...

Yes, that is I...a Super Hero. Or at least my daughter thinks so!

But really...aren’t we all Super Heros? Haven’t we all been through something in our life that has given us super strength to continue fighting the battle? Haven’t we all shed our former existence and embarked on a new life fighting against the evil of this world?

Yes, I dare say we all have. God spoke to me yesterday and told me how only the strongest endure the trials that beset them. He doesn’t allow us to endure anything we cannot handle. I find this to be an honour based on the latest season in my life.

I am now embarking on a life of Super Hero status. I have lived through a long season made up of many short seasons where I dealt with different circumstances, and I am now starting a new life. A life where I am going to share what I have learnt from my previous life so that others don’t have to experience the same thing.

But most importantly, I am starting a new chapter of my life where God is truly at the helm, where Jesus the Gentleman is by my side, and where I will be unashamedly sharing the goodness of this Christian walk with everyone!

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! – 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)

The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. – John 12:25 (NIV)

We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. – Romans 6:4 (NIV)

Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. – Colossians 3:9-10 (NIV)

These four verses are just a small pick of the promises that are in the Bible about becoming new in Christ. These are all important verses though!

The old has gone
The new has come
Losing your life
Gaining eternal life
Buried with Him
Raised from the dead of our old lives
Shed old ways
Cloaked in newness

God’s promises abound. They are clear; just as His requirements of us are. My requirement – my life changing act of obedience – is to live wholly and solely for Him.

I was told yesterday by my counsellor to “seek ye first the kingdom of God” and then everything else will fall into place. I’ve been doing it back to front, so it’s no wonder I’ve ended up where I am! But Super Hero status is now upon me. I am to suit up in the new me (can you feel an Armour of God post coming?), live out His destiny for me, share the love of Jesus with all whom I encounter, and let God lead.

Up, up and away (sorry, I just had to do it!)...

  2. I love your attitude Paula! I know it's hard going through these times but you're right in that God is with you and will fill every space within your heart with His presence. How awesome is that? I can't wait to see Him work in your life. He has been my comforter and shield in times of trouble.
