Dhá Chéad...and a GIVEAWAY!

Never mind the movie '300'...how is THIS for a supremo numero!

TWO HUNDRED !

Yes, CC in Roman numerals and "dhá chéad" in Irish on this St. Patrick's Day. To be sure, to be sure... Not only it is St. Patrick's Day and my 200th post, but it is also GIVEAWAY TIME here on my Sharing Spot! And, I am going to give one lovely commenter a copy of "Self Talk Soul Talk" by Jennifer Rothschild.

Don't you just love that there is green on the cover...just like St. Patrick's Day? Whoops, I digress...

All you need to do to win this amazing book is leave me a comment (oh, and follow me if you already don't...I like friends) and tell me which Bible verse has touched your heart this week, and a brief reason as to why. I think it would be interesting to know what from the Word is having an effect on people and why.

I chose this book as I did an online study on it last year. You can check out my posts here. I didn't post on every chapter as life started to get a bit crazy about that time, but as you will read from my posts, I did learn A LOT from the book. And don't forget that I will post this prize to ANYWHERE in the world, so it's not just for commenters here in Australia.

So ladies...comment away and I will wait until about this time next week to draw the winner. The "pull a name out of a hat" duties will be performed by my little sweetie, and we may just use my new Fedora to do so!

I look forward to your comments..."ú sona. Patrick's lá!"

  3. Congratulations on reaching 200 posts!!! And Hapy St Patrick's Day. This is the scripture I have been meditating on:

    Numbers 6:24-26 (New International Version
    24 " ' "The LORD bless you
    and keep you;
    25 the LORD make his face shine upon you
    and be gracious to you;
    26 the LORD turn his face toward you
    and give you peace." '

    Doesn't it remind you of this?:

    May the road rise to meet you,
    May the wind be always at your back,
    May the sun shine warm upon your face,
    May the rains fall soft upon your fields,
    And, until we meet again,
    May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.

    (Traditional Irish Blessing; origin unknown, although some attribute it to St. Patrick.)

  4. Congrats on 200 posts!! I think I'm at about 250 or so... Have eyed this book for awhile so love the chance to win!

    This week a verse really speaking to me is Heb 10:39 "We are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul."

    i am being very tested in an area right now and it is all out spiritual warfare. This verse is encouraging me not to shrink back but to keep believing!

  5. Hi Paula, wow I have a long way to go ... I'm only my 60-something post!

    I have been pondering Matthew 14. Straight after Jesus learns of the death of John the Baptist, he tries to get away somewhere quiet to mourn in peace. But the people follow him, he takes pity on them, and heals their sick. Then, works a miracle and feeds 5000 (not including women & children)!

    I know when I have been grieving the loss of a loved one, I have often thought it would be good to wear black to signify mourning, just like in Victorian times. That way hopefully others would be "gentler", realising my fragile emotional state. This thought grew out of an unpleasant exchange with a checkout operator just after a close friend suicided.

    So I know that the last thing I'd feel is ompassion for others - I would be too busy wanting some TLC for myself! Yet Jesus rose above his own needs and looked after others. What an example. Will I ever be as Christ-like?!
