Urgent Prayers Needed...

Well, I didn't think I'd ever see a flood in my lifetime, but I'm currently watching what is happening to Brisbane, and Queensland, on my TV and it is heart breaking! I have had tears this morning at the sheer desperation of seeing what others are enduring. I am safe but there is a threat to my house of wash-off from rain coming down the hill I live on.

I'm off work for the week as the computer system is down due to the server being held in the Brisbane CBD. But instead of wasting time, I'm keeping my friends, family and work colleagues in the loop from my lounge room. I'm also collecting household items, clothes, linen, etc to donate. Tomorrow night and Friday lunch time I'm going to do some volunteering through my church. I cannot sit and do nothing when so many are in desperate need.

The Brisbane River is due to peak tomorrow to 5.5 metres (18 feet) and will remain at that level for up to 12 to 18 hours. It's surreal to be sitting in my lounge room watching the flood devastation that is approximately 12 kilometres (7.5 miles) from me).

So, please join me in praying for the entire state of Queensland, and also Australia, as collectively we face flooding and fires from the east to the west.

  1. Lord,

You sit enthroned over the flood. (Psalm 29:10) Show your power by causing the waters to recede and the ground to dry up in record time. Work miracles in Australia for Your glory and for the hope of the people.

Thank you for my precious friend Paula. Use her to be a blessing during this scary time.
