24 Verses in 2009...

Well, I've jumped on the Siesta Scripture Memory Team at The LPM Blog and I am SOOO excited. I heard about it via a couple of other blog friends and I believe it is just what I need. Basically what I'll be doing is - with approximately 2,400 other ladies from all over the States (and the rest of the world!) I might add - memorising 2 verses a month for the next 12 months. Yes, that means 24 new verses embedded in my gray matter come end of year.

My first verse is, of course, my Verse for the Year, which is...

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. - Romans 8:28 (NIV)

I originally decided to use the New King James Version for this verse, but changed to the New International Version for ease of memorisation, hehe. I'm cheating a bit, but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do!

So, if you're up for the challenge too, pop on over to The LPM Blog and sign up
here, and then pop on over here and leave your first verse. Both comments must include your name and where you are from.

2009 is going to be a GREAT YEAR FOR JESUS...a JESUS YEAR as Beth Moore calls it. Can you feel the excitement? I can.

PS: Here is a photo of where my SSMT notepad will be sitting when I drive this year! And to my delight, I successfully helped my 4 1/2 year old daughter Jasmine to memorise half of my first verse for the year. I've decided that she will be a Mini-SSMT team member this year. I will keep you all updated as to her progress during the year as well as mine!

  2. Sounds ike a great goal. I'm not good about knowing which verse is which, but I've got so many in my head foating around! It would be great to formalize it! Thanks for visiting and feel free to adopt my mini-resolutions! :)
